I just finished playing Plants vs. Zombies on steam and I have to say that it’s amazing. It has great replay value. Even after you finish it, you still have a lot of new things to do. You can replay the old levels and, in addition to that, you can check out the other modes as well. You have to finish Adventure mode to be able to play puzzle mode and the others. It’s so fun to play and I’m so glad I did. I highly, highly, highly recommend this game to anyone who has a steam account.

If you don’t have a steam account, it’s free to download and install. This game was only around $10.

So if you guys have been watching E3 and reading up on what’s new you’d know about the 3DS. It’s pretty sweet and it’s not like the current upgrades that have come out recently. This is truly amazing. From what they say about it, it can display 3D graphics without requiring glasses. I mean it has so many features and capabilities that the DS Lite lacks. Just read the article about it here.

Nintendo 3DS

It has such a clean design and the modifications on it look great. The GBA slot is still missing, but its other features more than make up for it. If you’re looking for a gift for Christmas this year, don’t forget to pick up a 3DS for your loved ones. They will surely love it! I don’t know when it’s coming out or how much it is. If you guys know please let me know in the comments ^__^ Also, let me know what you are looking forward to getting or playing from what you’ve heard or seen at E3.

Before I forget, you have to check out the trailer to the new Professor Layton game coming out for the DS. It looks awesome. The story sounds so interesting. I can’t wait to get it, but first I have to finish Diabolical box ๐Ÿ˜› Click here to view the trailer.

Just recently I had done an interview with Tyler Nagata, an Editor for GamesRadar. I had sent him my work and shortly after, sent me a message on my YouTube account. I was astonished and at first I didn’t know if I was contacted by the right person. I was shocked by it and I decided to email back. He sent me some questions by email and the rest is history. I’m so glad that he decided to feature me on their game site. Click here for the article. This situation is surreal in a way because I had never in a million years think that I would be interviewed by a very successful gaming site. It’s an amazing opportunity and this really helps me get noticed by other crafters and gamers out there.

I’ve been on a very long hiatus when it comes to gaming. Recently I’ve been hearing a lot about new games coming up including Super Scribblenauts and Final Fantasy XIII. I really like Scribblenauts. Even though there are some glitches in it, it is still a really fun game. I love how you can use almost anything to your advantage.

Final Fantasy XIII is really different from the other FF games from what I’ve heard. I’m really interested in trying these two games out. However, I’m without a 360 at the moment and I need to get one.

I should also probably invest in a PS3 as well since they’re coming out with good games for it. I’ve seen DSP’s gameplay on YouTube for Heavy Rain. It’s a really interesting concept and I’m truly impressed with the way it’s set up. The story is not very complicated but it is very engaging. Even if you’re just watching someone play it, you get attached to the characters. Character development is really well done and you go through a range of emotions with this one.

I’d like to know what you guys are looking forward to playing this year. Please leave a comment if you’d like =)

I have class again tomorrow. I have to study so much this week because I have an exam next Tuesday. The test is on Tissues and the Integumentary system….I better get back to studying ๐Ÿ˜›

By the way. If you haven’t checked it out yet, Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story is an AMAZING game!!! I’m loving it right now ๐Ÿ™‚

Video Critique

I just watched a video showingย  guys how to turn their girlfriends into gamers. I was intrigued and I started watching it because I wanted to see what suggestions this girl had. Her first tip was for guys to cater to the girl’s personality, which is right. However, I somewhat disagree with the rest of the tips.

Her suggestion to slowly reel girls into gaming with games that aren’t really that great to begin with, will not get her to play. Suggesting games like Mario Party 8 and UNO (Come on. Just buy the cards). The other games she suggested were good. Geometry Wars, Guitar Hero 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl and WoW are all good suggestions.

Cute characters don’t always get girls to play. It will get boring after a while. Try to get her to play Final Fantasy. That would be an awesome game to start with. RPGs as she suggested are good and so are puzzle games.

Her last tip, in my opinion, is completely ridiculous. She suggested that guys let the girl win. That’s not going to make the girl feel better about her gaming skills. If she decides to play with other guy friends or other girls, she’s going to lose. That’s going to make her not want to play anymore. Letting her win will not make her into a better gamer at all.

I’ve been reading a few articles and blogs lately about female gamers, and there was one that I found particularly brilliant. Here is the link to her blog entry: It’s a bit on the long side, but it’s a very interesting entry. I totally agreed with her on all her points. The truth is, we are making it worse for ourselves when we label ourselves as “Girl Gamers”. I admit that I was one of them. I never really announced it or played someone online and told them I was a girl, but I have mentioned it in conversations with friends. This label is not necessary. Calling myself a “Girl Gamer” gives me a disadvantage. Some people have a preconceived notion that girls who play games are soft. Just to add to that, some women parade themselves in skimpy outfits and call themselves “Girl Gamers”. This kind of behavior is not helping anyone and it’s just hurting the chances that female gamers have of fitting into the gaming community. We don’t need to do this. Just play. Just enjoy yourselves.
